About
POSTAL 2 is a first-person adventure developed and published by Running With Scissors that was released on April 13, 2003. The game falls within the shooter, indie, action, and adventure genres while offering both single-player and multi-player modes. Players live a week in the life of The POSTAL Dude as he attempts to complete mundane chores like buying milk or returning library books. This darkly humorous experience allows users to blast, chop, and interact with various American caricatures in an open environment. The world is large and non-linear, letting players explore fully 3-D spaces at their own pace without strict time limits. You can interact with over 100 unique NPCs ranging from dogs and cats to protesters and civilians, all populated by unpredictable AI. The arsenal includes items such as a shovel and a rocket launcher, alongside tools like attack dogs and cats used for specific purposes. A survival mode option lets pacifist players face hostile NPCs who may still go postal regardless of the player's choices. The main story takes approximately seven hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to twelve hours. For those seeking a completionist experience, the game offers up to twenty-eight hours of content. The title includes the original release plus the first two expansions, which add missions involving terrorists, bank robbers, and other specific enemies. Built on the Unreal Editor, the software is noted for being easy to use and powerful enough to support many community mods.
