About
Pronty is an indie action adventure platformer published by 18Light Game Ltd., CE-Asia, Joy Brick, and Mayflower Entertainment. The game was released on November 18, 2021, and features single-player gameplay where players control the inexperienced protagonist Pronty alongside Bront, a weaponized robotic swordfish. Bront serves as a defensive tool that can fend off sea creatures corrupted by toxic waste while repelling enemies and removing obstacles. Players explore the fallen underwater city of Royla in an experience similar to a Metroidvania. The environment is depicted with a colorful, clean line art style designed to show a mysterious underwater world filled with peril. Sound and music are provided by composer Paul Su from Behind the Screen. Combat relies on a unique javelin system where Bront shields Pronty from harm during encounters. The game presents hostile and mutated sea life formed from a fusion of critters and marine debris. Some creatures appear easy to defeat, but players must fight giant bosses to reveal the truth behind the monsters and pollution. Customized combat is possible through swappable upgrades unlocked in Pronty's Memory Board. These new abilities allow players to create strategies that work for every situation and play style. A post-launch update added a Boss Rush mode located in Neptune's Hall for replay value. This feature allows players to challenge the game on all difficulties repeatedly. The title offers an underwater Metroidvania experience set within a magnificent but dangerous aquatic city.
