About
Q.U.B.E. 2 is an indie first-person adventure and sci-fi puzzle game developed by Toxic Games and published by Trapped Nerve Games. Players assume the role of Amelia Cross, a stranded archaeologist who awakens in the ruins of an ancient alien landscape. She is joined remotely by Commander Emma Sutcliffe as they work to navigate the environment and return home. The game takes place within a maze-like monolith where players must solve puzzles while wearing a strange suit with attached gloves. These manipulation gloves allow users to change and adapt the architectural structure of the world around them. As progress is made, thought-provoking questions regarding the player's true purpose and the origins of the structure emerge. Confronting these mysteries forces the protagonist to accept a devastating truth that alters their understanding of the situation. The experience covers eleven distinct puzzle areas containing over eighty individual puzzles to solve. Players can explore diverse environments that expand the established Q.U.B.E. world throughout the adventure. The game offers full colour blind support by using symbols as a visual aid alongside standard colors. An original musical score composed by BAFTA nominated composer David Housden accompanies the gameplay. The main story takes approximately five hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to seven hours. A completionist run of the game also requires about seven hours to finish all content. This new adventure introduces brand new characters and improved mechanics for players to interact with.
