Space Hulk: Deathwing is a First-Person Shooter experience based on Games Workshop's classic Space Hulk boardgame set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000. The game was developed by Streum On Studio and published by Focus Entertainment. It became available for purchase on December 14, 2016. This title is built using Unreal Engine 4 technology. Players can choose between single-player or multi-player modes that include co-op options. You and up to three friends can team up to fight against Genestealers in the claustrophobic tunnels of a Space Hulk. As you complete missions, you gain skills, new abilities, and new equipment. The setting features Space Hulks that drift along the currents of the Warp, an immaterial dimension of Chaos. These structures are made of gigantic asteroids, ship wrecks, and stellar debris.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is that paradoxical game that's hard to dislike, but also hard to love. The glorious moments of fervent xeno-purging are too fleeting, and often left me standing in dark corridors, surrounded by my slain foes, looking for any kind of context or sense of lasting accomplishment. There is somewhere in it the embryo of the ultimate Space Marine game, but despite a lot of potential for simple, squad-based fun in multiplayer, it never moves beyond being a stripped-down and poorly running prototype for the kind of game I wish it had been. "So close, yet so far" will be the slogan etched into this terminator's hulking shoulder pads.
