Your prowess in combat shapes the abilities and personality of your forces as you progress through the story. You must plan ahead to set up impressive chains of abilities designed to outsmart the enemy during encounters. Combat involves an intricate dance of spectacular actions where you fight in epic boss battles against the sources of Suffering. These dread creatures are pulled from the worst of Humanity's crimes against itself, presenting significant challenges for your squad. You will face situations where you must make the toughest decision to sacrifice one Daughter to heal another. Survivors who receive this healing get stronger and become ready to fight the next battle in the campaign. For players aiming for a completionist run, the total time required reaches about 37 hours. Failure is not the end of the experience since you can return with lost powers to face a new nightmare.
