About
The Bard's Tale IV: Director's Cut is an RPG developed and published by inXile Entertainment, released on August 27, 2019. This single-player title offers a heroic adventure that includes over 50 hours of main content plus additional extras for a total of 61 hours. Players can also pursue a completionist playthrough which extends the experience to approximately 80 hours. The game features a legacy mode designed specifically for returning fans who wish to revisit the world. Combat in this title relies on a tactically rich system that rewards creative approaches from the player. Users will encounter over 350 speaking parts and enjoy more than 100 pieces of incredible music throughout their journey. Character creation allows players to choose between four distinct classes, each offering between 60 and 70 skills. These classes include the Bard, Fighter, Practitioner, and Rogue, which collectively unlock a variety of unique abilities. The Director's Cut edition introduces new items, new enemies, and additional character customization options compared to previous versions. A free expansion dungeon is included in this release alongside a revised user interface for improved navigation. Players can adjust numerous settings using sliders to control aspects such as saving mechanics and the mini-map. Options exist to enable or disable features like save-anywhere functionality and waypoint markers to suit different play styles.
