What is Total War: SHOGUN 2?
Total War: SHOGUN 2 is a strategy game set in Feudal Japan during the 16th Century. The country is divided into many warring clans, and ten legendary warlords fight for supremacy. Players take on the role of one Daimyo, the clan leader, and must use military engagements, economics, and diplomacy to achieve their goal: re-unite Japan under their command and become the new Shogun.
The game features enhanced full 3D battles via land and sea. Total War: SHOGUN 2 was published by SEGA, with Feral Interactive handling Mac and Linux versions. CREATIVE ASSEMBLY developed the game, with Feral Interactive also contributing to the Mac and Linux versions. The game was released on March 15, 2011. Players can enjoy both single-player and multiplayer modes, as well as cooperative gameplay.
The main story takes approximately 27 hours to complete. If players choose to explore additional content, the total playtime increases to 68 hours. A completionist playthrough, which includes all aspects of the game, can take up to 216 hours.
