Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide is a co-operative action first person shooter and melee combat adventure. It takes place in and around Ubersreik, a city overrun by Skaven. Players assume the role of one of five heroes, each featuring different play-styles, abilities, gear, and personality. The game allows for up to four players to work together cooperatively.
Battles will take place across a range of environments stretching from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Under Empire. The main story can be completed in approximately eight hours. If you include all extras, the total playtime increases to 26 hours. A completionist playthrough will take around 146 hours.

The use of different classes and the evocation of the Warhammer setting is enough to make Vermintide a competent twist on the Left 4 Dead formula, but it doesn't execute them well enough to live up to its inspiration. Even at its best, Vermintide's co-op horde mode lacks a sense of suspense, and its addictive loot chase can't fully replace that. As I'm sure any Skaven would tell you, there are better things than being a rat in a maze.
