About

White Knuckle is a first-person roguelite speed-climbing game developed by Dark Machine Games and published by DreadXP. The title was released on April 17, 2025, as a single-player experience. Players ascend through the guts of SUB-STRUCTURE 17 using precision movement mechanics. Sharp reflexes and resource management are required to escape ten thousand meters of concrete and decay. The game relies on momentum-based movement mechanics that demand precise control from the player. A variety of tools and resources can be deployed during the climb, but losing your grip means falling to eternity below. Managing your inventory is critical because becoming encumbered will cause you to fall to your death. Failure to grab necessary items from your bag in time can spell disaster for your run. Through run-based meta-progression, players discover and unlock varied augmentations to bolster their will to ascend. You are not alone down here as strange life flourishes far underground within the game world. Darker things haunt these halls while something oozes from the depths following you. This entity grows angrier over time and will not let up during your attempted escape. Travel through different regions where you face unique threats and gameplay challenges throughout the climb.
