About
Farewell North is an action indie adventure and casual title developed by Kyle Banks and published by Mooneye Studios. The game was released on August 15, 2024, offering a single-player experience where players assume the role of a border collie. This unique perspective allows users to restore color to their human companion's world within an environment inspired by the Scottish highlands. Players can explore hand-crafted islands that draw inspiration from the archipelagos of St. Kilda and Orkney while traveling at their own pace. Movement options include running through lush fields, hiking steep cliffs, and canoeing across the ocean to connect different locations. The journey focuses on themes of companionship, trust, and loss as memories reveal glimpses into the characters' past lives. Activities range from herding sheep, coos, and chickens to playing fetch with the human character. Users may also assist local farmers with livestock, reunite a trapped whale with its pod, or find lost ducklings to bring happiness. The experience includes solving puzzles based on perspective and coloring to uncover hidden objects and paths in the environment. The soundtrack features an adaptive orchestral score that incorporates singing by Siobhan Miller. Wildlife throughout the game is inspired by the rich history of Scottish folklore. For those interested in similar titles, fans of Journey, Firewatch, and Lost Ember might find this experience relevant.Read moreShow less
