About
UnMetal is an indie action comedy adventure developed by @unepic_fran and published by Versus Evil. The game was released on September 27, 2021, and features a single-player experience. Players control Jesse Fox, a character who is not an elite commando but is instead under arrest for a crime he did not commit. His goal is to escape from a covert military base using his dry wits and quick words. The gameplay involves utilizing improvised skills, an arsenal of warfare, violent explosives, and MacGuyvered gadgets. Jesse can also use his fists if other methods fail or if deception does not work. The experience pays homage to classic titles while incorporating modern mechanics that allow players to gain new skills through stealth. You may need to adapt your approach by impersonating a cat or elaborating on an elaborate explanation of how the situation occurred. The main story takes approximately 10 hours to complete, with additional content extending the playtime to 11 hours. For those aiming for a completionist run, the total length reaches 13 hours. During these sessions, players uncover a clandestine plot while escaping an enemy base where they were imprisoned unjustly. The narrative focuses on interrogation scenes where Jesse must explain the specifics of his great escape to a lieutenant.
