About
Yoku's Island Express is an indie adventure developed by Villa Gorilla and published by Team17 Digital LTD. The game was released on May 28, 2018, and features single-player gameplay where you control Yoku, a pint-sized postman. Players navigate the tropical paradise of Mokumana Island to deliver parcels while soaking up the sun. The core experience combines platforming with open world exploration to help those in need across the island. You traverse the environment using pinball mechanics to flip and bump the protagonist around as you rebuild the post-office. This non-linear approach allows freedom to choose your own path among multiple questlines. Your main goal involves waking an ancient Island deity from a restless sleep that has trapped it in slumber. The adventure includes both the main story, which takes about six hours to complete, and additional content extending playtime to eight hours. Completing all objectives for a full completionist run requires approximately eleven hours of gameplay.

Yoku's Island Express Critic Reviews and Review Scores
EurogamerChristian Donlan
A glorious marriage of pinball and platforming and a wild-spirited adventure to cherish.

Yoku's Island Express is a novel Metroidvania-pinball hybrid that stands out as something wholly unique. It blends those clashing genres with a beautiful island style, and its satisfying flippers and bumpers make uncovering its wide island a ton of fun. Retreading completed areas while hunting for secrets can occasionally get stale, but Yoku's Island Express has a refreshingly positive attitude that kept me smiling the whole way through.

A blend of mismatched genres that somehow works, Yoku's Island Express is a beguiling game of modest brilliance.
