Recently, Smilegate hosted a live stream discussing future developments for its F2P MMORPG Lost Ark. As players in other regions know, what happens in Korean Lost Ark doesn’t necessarily happen the same way everywhere else. Still, these announcements can cause players to speculate and worry. Today, Amazon addressed issues they thought might concern players in a post.
The post covers several topics, starting with everyone’s favorite topic, nerfs. This section begins by discussing the gold adjustments to raid levels announced in the stream. As pointed out by Amazon, economy and gold income vary between regions. Moreover, we are currently still behind the Korean version of the game, so adjustments of any type, including nerfs, need to be considered based on this fact. What the devs are looking to do is make things a bit easier for new and returning players at the moment. They’ve listed several things that will be changed in order to do this, such as reducing the number of materials required for Tempering and Advanced honing. The amount of gold needed for Restoration and Purification will be reduced as well.
Today’s post also touches on gem system changes that will be implemented in order to allow players to enjoy various classes “without unnecessary restrictions”. The idea is to balance things so that both players who like playing multiple classes and those who enjoy optimizing their gems get to play the way that best suits them. Speaking of classes, players can look forward to a class balance patch this month.
There is some unfortunate news in the post, specifically for German and French players. Beginning in May, Amazon will stop supporting localization for these languages and move resources to those with a larger player base – specifically English and Spanish.
For those advertising bus services in the game, note that the devs are on to your new tricks and will be implementing greater penalties, in addition to ones previously revealed, in order to discourage the practice.
