ArenaNet Reveals First New Guild Wars DLC In Almost 20 Years

If you’ve been a long-time player of the original Guild Wars, you haven’t seen much in the way of DLC in a long time. Say… almost 20 years? Nothing will make you feel old like realizing that the last time a specific thing happened in your game of choice was nearly two decades ago. But, it’s happening all the same.

Today, ArenaNet announced the MMORPG’s first premium DLC in nearly 20 years, Guild Wars Afterlife. The new DLC will take players into the land of Xotecha via the Mists of Tyria, where they’ll assist the Order of the Moonless Night.

The new DLC features new kinds of challenges for players to take on, including an ever-changing dungeon where players will start by chosing a starting loadout before exploring the gauntlet. Along the way, they’ll be able to use a skill-drafting system to choose new abilities after a successful encounter. Completing runs will unlock rewards that players can use in future dungeon runs.
