Overwatch's Workshop is an open playground, enabling regular users to build their own custom game modes for the free-to-play team shooter. This can range from things such as 1v1 lobbies and training simulations to more complete game modes such as zombies-inspired picks, racing games, no cooldowns spam modes, and more.
Of course, there are endless possibilities when it comes to Overwatch Workshop, making the custom game mode perfect to use with your squad for warm-ups, in between games, or even while you're waiting in queue for your next match. Every published Workshop mode has a code that you can import into the custom games screen, making things easier than ever. If you're looking for a list of the best, most hilarious, and fun custom game modes for Overwatch, then this list has all of the options you'll need!

Gun Game No Cooldowns is an absolute classic. It can be played with a minimum of two people all the way up to a full lobby of over ten players. In this mode, players land in the Workshop Arena space with a random hero. You then need to secure a kill with your kit on any enemy to earn a point and progress to the next randomly selected hero.
The catch? There are no cooldowns on your abilities, so you can abuse them as much as you'd like. Imagine Junkrat with infinite mine-jumps, Moira with infinite orbs, or infinite Genji dashes, just to name a few. It's a crazy time, but somehow incredibly addicting, and worth a good few laughs when playing with your squad.

Rein Invasion Remastered is a zombie-like invasion mode in which you and your friends will need to fight off wave after wave of Reinhardts. The game mode can even be played solo, if you'd like, but the fun and chaos are definitely much more enjoyable with a full squad. It doesn't require too much focus, making it the perfect game to play while in queue or for a little break between matches.

Of course we have Jetpack Cat Racing in Overwatch. In this mode, every player loads in as Jetpack Cat, the hyper-mobile Support hero with free flight. You then need to use your boosters to speed through the map, flying through every glowing green ring in the process. The goal is to compete against your friends to gain the fastest map completion time before the game timer is up. It's a simple racing game, but one that offers endless light-hearted competitive fun.

On a similar note, Hammond Bumper Cars is a complete blast that can be played with a duo or a full lobby, as there are also bot bumper cars included. In this mode, Wrecking Ball has been transformed into a bumper car that glides around the Workshop Island map, and you need to bump your enemies off into the water. It's crazy, chaotic, funny, and the perfect game that you can throw on while waiting in queue.

Genji Dodgeball, otherwise known as Genjiball, is a workshop mode in which every player loads in as Genji. A glowing ball will spawn in and head towards one of the players. They must use their deflect ability to shoot the ball back at another player. If you fail to use or mistime your deflect, then you will be eliminated. The round ends when one player is left standing. This one is very competitive, fast-paced, and a decent one to throw on for some fun with friends. It can even help as a warm-up to get your reaction times ready for some competitive play.

Doom Sumo is a 1v1-style Doomfist battle where two players compete on the Workshop Island map to punch one another off into the water. Of course, Doom has great mobility, so a lot of the time you can jump back up to safety, making it a real competitive test between friends. There are also different effects you can use, such as Sombra's Hack or Lucio's Boop, making things even more fun and chaotic.

Ana Paintball is typically a free-for-all custom game mode, but there have also been variants of it that run a 6v6/5v5 format. In this mode, everyone plays as Ana and uses their sniper rifle as a 'paintball gun'. To score a point, you need to eliminate an opponent by simply shooting them once - every hit will be a 1-shot KO, forcing them to respawn somewhere else on the map. The winner is whichever individual or team has scored the most points before time runs out.

That's right, it's time for the heal/damage-beaming Support hero to get her boxing gloves on! Mercy Boxing is a custom game that can be run as a free-for-all or team-based setup. Every player is Mercy, but you can't use her gun. Instead, you'll need to use her glide and jump to get close enough to an enemy, then melee hit them to KO them. This one is a bunch of fun for rapid-fire rounds against friends or while waiting in queue for a match.

Tiny Overwatch is a simple concept, but it has proved itself to be one of the more popular game modes in the community. Tiny Overwatch restricts the arena to a small section of different maps - usually a single room or hallways. Players randomly spawn in as one of the heroes on the roster, but will be equipped with no ability cooldowns. You now need to duke it out to gain the most points by killing the others. It's chaotic and even a bit overwhelming, but it is also one of the most entertaining options to play with your stack.
