Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is celebrating Sonic the Hedgehog’s 34th anniversary with a month-long event: Sonic Super Festa 2025.
Players of the free-to-play MMORPG that log in during the event will receive stuff like acrylic stand-style Build Parts featuring Sonic and friends, as well as Special Scratch Tickets, Star Gems, and Game Points. A new AC Scratch Ticket, "Sonic Style Heroines," will also be available — offering Sonic-inspired outfits and hairstyles for certain characters.
Sonic Super Festa 2025 starts on June 10, featuring a weeklong +100% Rare Drop Rate boost. And on Sonic’s actual birthday, June 23, that boost will jump to +240% (+340% when combined with PSO2 Day bonuses).
Also, beginning June 18, Limited-Time Quests titled “Special Training: Sonic Sprint” and “Special Training: Shadow Sprint” will rotate daily. These quests mix nostalgic elements with new enemy types and mechanics, tasking players with collecting Rings and Chaos Emeralds across Halpha to build strength and defeat bosses. The Shadow Sprint version includes different background music too.
Additionally, players can earn rewards through the Sonic Collab SP Scratch Ticket, which reintroduces classic Sonic-themed cosmetics. Tickets can be earned by completing new Limited-time and Title Tasks. They can claim 34 Sonic Collab SP Scratch Tickets by entering the keyword "SONIC_34th_Anniv." in-game on Sonic’s birthday (June 23).
