Today, Tennobaum kicked off in Warframe. If you’re not familiar, you can probably still guess that this event is part of the free-to-play shooter’s holiday celebrations. In the spirit of the season, Digital Extremes offers players the opportunity to give each other gifts in-game while also supporting a charity – in this year’s case, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of London and Area. Of course, there are rewards for players to earn as well. So everyone wins.
The way it works is pretty simple. Players gift items to each other in-game. Once a certain number of gifts have been given and received, Digital Extremes will donate a set amount of money, and special rewards will unlock in-game. Goals are set for 20k, 40k, 60k, 80k, and 100k gifts being given. Once the first tier is reached, DE will donate $10k, and three holiday items will unlock in-game. Players can also pick up other goodies via the game’s Market.
For those who would rather help directly, an option to donate is available on the Tennobaum special site. More information on the charity, as well as the Tennobaum holiday card contest, can be found on the same site.
