Now that the Very Large Rift in the North Wuling Exclusion Zone has been taken care of (We’ll see how long that lasts.), it should be time for the Endmin to take a break. Right?
Or not. A video game update isn’t an update without players having something to do. And that typically means trouble. Arknights: Endfield is no exception. This morning, Gryphline hosted the livestream for the free-to-play action RPG’s latest version, “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow”.
In this update, the Endmin ends up heading into the Snowy Forest outside Yinglung pass in search of Andre. The big bird had been on his way to visit everyone and celebrate recent events when communication was cut off. That’s where the Endmin will go to look for him and end up getting trapped themselves, thanks to a mysterious fog.
Not surprisingly, they aren’t alone in there. An operator from Rhodes Island is also trapped in the fog, a reconvener named Typhoeus. The three will need to work together to find their way out. Luckily, Typhoeus has something that will help dispel the fog. It’s time for a little archery.
Of course, Typhoeus is one of two new operators being introduced in this update. She’ll be available during the first run and is a Nature striker who uses a bow in combat.
The second operator is a bit more cuddly looking. Purrchena suffers from an aliment that causes her to fall asleep randomly. She’s a Physical defender armed with a cotton candy shield. Despite what it’s made out of, it can fend off attacks while leaving an opening for Purrchena to counterattack with a headbutt. She also heals ally operators and can throw bombs and black holes at enemies.
Typhoeus will be available in the first round of headhunting, beginning with the update’s launch on September 2. As for Purrchena, she’s a free 6-star, available to players upon login, as is her weapon.
A new type of headhunting banner is being introduced as well. The RE-Factor banners are similar to the standard banner that already exist – at least the first one is – as it features Pog, Last Rite, Ardelia, Lifeng, and Ember. It also features Yvonne as the Rate-Up operator. The rules for this banner are different from others with players receiving 10 bonus Urgent Recruitment attempts at the 30/60/90 marks. The Rate-UP operator is guaranteed with 120 attempts and every 240 attempts gives a token of the Rate-UP operator. Progress will also carry over to future RE-Factor banners featuring the same character.
The update will also send players to a city named Suiming. This puzzle-exploration map introduces a new type of puzzle gameplay in which the entire city is part of the puzzle.
The update brings several quality-of-life changes, including several specific to the AIC designed to make upkeep and building easier.
