Open Beta 9 has arrived in SMITE 2 and the F2P MOBA welcomes Guan Yu to the battlefield. The Saint of War brings a bit of a balanced approach being able to heal, sustain damage, and move around each skirmish quickly thanks to some higher mobility. When things get a bit too hairy, mount up using Yu's Ultimate: Calvary Charge. Once on horseback, Yu isn't susceptible to crowd control, they'll charge around striking multiple enemies, and things finish off with Yu landing a final massive strike that stuns all enemies hit.

Outside of the new god, expect more cosmetics (as always), including bee-related skins courtesy of the Wandering Market. The MOBA's store itself also sees the addition of SMITE 2's first wave of announcer packs and some new discounted cross-gen skins.

If you're a big Conquest player, make sure to read through the full patch notes. While the entire game has received a number of smaller balance updates, Conquest is getting a few changes that impact the overall speed of the mode. Specifically, leveling time has been increased, so it'll take you "a few minutes" longer to reach level 20. However, gold acquisition has been increased so your "time to full build" should be decreased overall. This is all in an attempt to find that "sweet spot" for the mode's pacing.
