The folks at HoYoverse have been pretty busy, it seems. Not only are we getting regular drops of hours-long content in free-to-play games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail every six weeks or so. We now have two new games outside of the company’s standard genre on the way. The first, of course, is the cozy-looking creature collecting game set in the Honkai universe. The second, announced last night, is another cozy game, this time in the Life Sim genre, Petit Planet.
That means it’s in the same genre as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. Only, as you can probably tell by the name, you’re not in a village or on an island. You have the cosmos to work with. Starting with a single planet, players will nurture it and eventually connect it to other planets to build a galaxy.
Now that I think of it, it’s almost like Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazing mission turned cozy – and with more cute animal beings. Unlike Honkai: Nexus Anima, this doesn’t appear to be set in the Honkai universe, but that probably won’t stop it from having some of the same themes, only with less violence and more gardening.
With the trailer reveal, HoYo also dropped the game's site and announced signups for the upcoming closed beta as well as pre-registration. The first test is open to players on PC and iOS.
