There's going to be a bit of a "revamp" coming to League of Legends in 2025, particularly with how the MOBA handles seasons. Going forward, Riot Games will introduce 3 seasons per year, each lasting about 16 weeks. Each season will have its own cinematic, be divided into two acts, and will be focused around a particular champion in Runeterra. The entire year will tell a story that threads its way through all three seasons. Season 1, coming in 2025, will take place in Noxus.
Drilling down to some of the finer details, seasons will feature rewards based upon the season's focus, but non-season related rewards will also be available. Event Passes and Tokens are going away in favor of battle passes, and yes, there's both a free and premium track. There will be 1 ranked reset in January, but there won't be any other resets after that.
Quickplay could find itself replaced with "Swiftplay" based on testing results. What's different in Swiftplay? Well, early mistakes won't be nearly as punishing. The mode will still be competitive, but the aim is to focus the mode more on champion development than absolutely crushing your opponent. It's similar to Valorant's lower-stakes Swiftplay mode while maintaining the game flow of Summoner's Rift. In addition to other changes (like XP and gold distribution), there's a very cool change for someone like me...you know, someone REALLY bad at MOBAs. You'll get less and less experience by farming people like me. It isn't going to be hugely beneficial to keep targeting the weakest link on a team.
As for Season 1 specifically, you'll see the new addition of Atakhan, a new epic monster that will spawn at the 20-minute mark of your match. It'll spawn at one of 2 locations, depending on which team is ahead at the 14-minute mark, and reward Blood Roses (a new plant) that provides XP bonuses and an Adaptive Force buff.
Things like First Blood, First Tower, or First Three Epic Jungle Monsters will no longer reward gold, instead they see the introduction of the new "Feats of Strength" feature. If your team takes two of the three objectives first, you'll receive the blessing of Noxus buff, immediately granting a small bonus to any tier 2 boots belonging to players on the Feat winning team. This is retroactive, so if you already have tier 2 boots when you get Feats, they’ll get the bonus immediately.
Runes are also getting revamped, so make sure to be up-to-date on how everything is changing.
Hit up the full post on the change for all the details and to see the revamp coming to Viktor thanks to the Arcane show. You can also check out the dev video below, but be warned, there are Arcane spoilers early in the video.
