MMOBOMB
May 22, 2025
In a video, the Lost Ark team recently discussed several major features coming to the free-to-play MMO ARPG that are currently in development.
First, we have Paradise. Designed specifically for Western players, it’s an experimental, seasonal system that emphasizes accessibility and progression over difficulty. Paradise features new gear exclusive to this content, functioning similarly to belts or cloaks, and resets with each season. The gameplay resembles a defense-style mode where players face waves of enemies and earn weekly and seasonal rewards, some potentially tied to rankings.
New modes were previewed as well. God’s Testimony introduces intense 1v1 boss battles, where performance heavily relies on the Paradise gear, with rewards including progression items and "Hell Keys." Hell is a 100-floor gauntlet that allows players to skip levels based on their Hell Key grade. Players can encounter Hell Altars along the way for power-ups and shortcuts. The system also includes a reward-selection mechanic, letting players choose the progression items they need most.
Additionally, to re-engage veteran players, the team is developing a more difficult version of raids, similar in format to The First Thaemine challenge. These raids will be accessible after Kazeros' defeat and feature seasonal leaderboards and rewards, bringing high-skill content back into focus for those seeking greater challenges.
Other updates included a July roadmap release that will provide more details on Paradise, a new Female Paladin class, and upcoming Strike Raids. The Mokoko Bootcamp event will continue indefinitely, refreshing its rewards periodically. And, the long-requested Mileage Shop is on the way, with retroactive point grants.
