Now that the free-to-play supernatural action RPG Neverness to Everness has been out for a while, I’m sure everyone who’s been playing has a general grasp of the general order in the city. Supernatural beings and events known as “Anomalies,” as well as humans embued with supernatural powers, “Espers”, live and work among the regular people of Hethereau.
Of course, not every Anomaly or Esper is what you’d call a stand-up citizen. Some are even apocalyptically dangerous. That’s where the organization known as “The Circle” comes in. We don’t know a lot about The Circle, but we do know that it consists of several smaller organizations and that Anomalies and Espers alike have to deal with the bureaucracy they’ve set up.
Yesterday, Hotta Studio dropped a video that offers more information on the game. A forum thread asks how life in the city would differ if the supernatural entities weren’t revealed four decades ago, and the replies cover details on how Anomalies and Espers may balance each other out and speculate on the real function of The Circle. It’s a pretty solid lore drop this early into what’s intended to be a long-running RPG.
