Steam Deck owners will soon get a great new way to test their handheld hardware

Popular benchmarking tool OCCT is releasing an optimized handheld edition for the Steam Deck, allowing curious gamers to fully stress test their hardware with a natively supported app. According to the developers, this “portable handheld edition” will run “flawlessly” on the Steam Deck and be available for free on launch.

Benchmarking tools such as OCCT have been popular with hardware builders for decades, allowing you to check the stability of your machine. While it has always made sense to use OCCT on the best gaming PCs, I can also definitely see the appeal of using it on a handheld, especially if you’re unsure whether or not your Steam Deck is working properly.
