Star Trek Online players are familiar with the Kobayashi Maru – the “unwinnable” scenario that Kirk won. Granted, he kinda cheated to do it, but still… To this day, Starfleet captains are still asked to defend the Kobayashi Maru. Only the test has been updated over time to reflect the dangers captains can face.
Today, that test returns to Star Trek Online as one of two TFOs featured in the game’s latest event. The other is the ground TFO Arena of Sompek. This second TFO has players competing in the legendary Klingon qaD HoS event on Qo’noS.
Both TFOs will last for a set amount of rounds, ending immediately once those rounds are complete. The Kobayashi Maru will last for 6 rounds while Arena of Sompek will last for 7 rounds.
This is the first event of the MMORPG’s seventh event campaign. Players need to participate in six events to eventually earn a Tier 6 Infinity Promotional Ship, two T6 Zen Store coupons, and 1500 Lobi. Rewards will also be given out for each TFO separately. Details on the rewards are available on the Star Trek Online site.
