Palia’s Next Patch Will Introduce Animal Husbandry

Palia players have been asking for it, and now they’re going to get it. Recently, during a Fall roadmap video, the Palia dev team announced the “Fall Fantasy: Of Barns and Briars” update. This update brings new quests and other content to the cozy MMORPG, but the highlight feature is probably going to be the introduction of the Ranching Skill, which is the Palia version of animal husbandry.

According to the roadmap video, players will be given their “very own ranch” when the next update drops. The ranch will allow players to raise up to 30 animals. As these animals grow, they’ll gain new traits that not only change them visually but also offer gameplay benefits. And, just as is the case in real life, these traits can be passed on to the next generation.

While the devs have discussed plans for Ranching to be done together with other players in previous content, to start things off, the feature will be solo. This is to give players a chance to build out their pen. That said, players can still share the results of their ranching with each other via a system that allows one of the animals on the ranch to follow the player as a pet.

In addition to the Ranching system, the devs are introducing a new series of homes known as Home Lines. The first home is an alchemist’s cottage. This new series of homes will offer players more customization and include a lot of embellishments like chimneys and eaves.
