Rainbow Six Siege probably won’t get a sequel.
Alexander Karpazis, the game's creative director, opposed the idea during a group interview held at the Siege Invitational 2024 in Brazil — according to PC Gamer. He cited the shooter's robust engine, talented team, and ongoing improvements as reasons why it would be unnecessary.
However, Karpazis emphasizes the strength of Rainbow Six Siege's engine: Ubisoft Anvil. Despite occasional criticism, he highlighted the team's monthly efforts to enhance content delivery and stability to a game that celebrated its ninth anniversary this year. Karpazis says switching to a new engine would be like losing and having to redo homework, with no guarantee of replicating the original's success. He believes building upon existing foundations lead to a better chance of success in the future.
"We really do know that this is a game that can last forever with the people and the talent and the tools that we have today," thinks Karpazis.
