Soulframe Preludes Celebrates Thawtide With The Launch Of The Holiday Update

Today, Digital Extremes released a new Soulframe Preludes update, bringing some holiday spirit to the free-to-play action RPG. The update kicks off the Thawtide event, a celebration of the Winter Solstice among the Dendrit that involves feeding Midrath’s Cardinals. During this event, players will need to help with the festivities by feeding the Cardinals and removing the Ode occupation’s Squawkers. Of course, doing so will earn players special rewards.

Rewards include a new armor set, Cardinal Sparrow Guide bird skins, new weapons, and more. The same rewards can also be instantly unlocked on the game’s marketplace using premium currency. Although it seems like that would take some of the fun out of obtaining them.

In addition to the holiday event, today’s update also introduces new runes for flyblade, greatsword, and polearm weapons. Some new quality-of-life changes have been introduced as well. Patch notes for the update are available on the Soulframe site.
