The Tsarista’s Plan For The Gnosis Will Finally Be Revealed In Genshin Impact’s Version 7.1 Update

It’s been six years since Genshin Impact players landed in Teyvat and the first Gnosis was taken from Venti. In all that time we’ve been in the dark about exactly why the Cryo Archon was gathering the Gnoses – although, we have some pretty solid theories based on what we’ve discovered during our travels. Now that we’ve landed in Snezhnaya, we’re closer to meeting the Archon and getting the truth from her. And, based on the Version 7.1 Special Program, we’ll be helping out.

But first, we have to deal with a more pressing issue: Ronova, the Ruler of Death, who definitely has it out for the people of Snezhnaya. This time players will have to fight the Shade. Of course, they’ll have some help. Although, based on the trailer, I’m not sure how much help that will really be. Sill, we’ll have the help of old friends like Dain, as well as those we’ve met since coming to Snezhnaya. Two of whom are this update’s new playable characters, Vesna and Vodyanista.

Both Vesna and Vodyanista introduce new ways to use Stellar Swirl reactions. Vesna, an Anemo Sword wielder, converts Cryo Swirl reactions into Stellar Swirl reactions. She can also summon Spirit Blades and consume “Sword Essence” to command the blades to attack. If they attack near a Stellar Vortex, their attacks become Stellar Swirl reaction damage. As an added bonus, Vesna is able to fly while exploring.

Vodyanista, on the other hand, being a water imp, fights with a Hydro catalyst. During combat, she can transform into her mermaid-like water imp form and use her song to heal the active character and support them in other ways. This form can also be used to move quickly through the water and, surprisingly, even out of the water.

Both Vesna and Vodyanitsa will be available in the Phase 1 banner. The second phase will feature the return of Skirk and Escoffier. Since the two new playable five-star characters are available at the same time, you’ll need to plan accordingly.

Speaking of five-star characters, the Version 7.1 update will also be bringing the free-to-play action RPG’s six-year anniversary celebration with it. That means a few things. First, the Moonchase Festival is finally returning after a five year wait. Yilong Wharf will be hosting the celebration, which should be pretty special since the Adeptus associated with the moon has returned. Of course, there’s still something mysterious to be uncovered and it seems even Zhongli and Zibai haven’t figured it out yet – which is pretty weird because Zhongli always seems to know everything.

Aside from the story, the festival will feature new mini-games that players can attempt to earn rewards. At the same time, a snowball event ill be taking place in Snezhnaya and a tournament predition event will be kicking off in Natlan. So there are a lot of ways to earn rewards.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an anniversary event without rewards, so… Players can look forward to the usual login-rewards and rewards in the mail. On top of that there will be two opportunities to receive free five-star characters.

The first will allow players to invite one of the following characters: Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Mona, Keqing, Tighnari, Dehya, and Yumemizuki Mizuki and also claim their character enhancement material. The second requires players to complete the Version 7.1 Archon quest and will allow them to choose one of these characters, Baizhu, Varesa, Chiori, Nilou, Tartaglia, or Clorinde and receive their character enhancement materials as well.

Version 7.1 will drop on September 23. In the meantime, make sure to use the following redemption codes: Rekviem, Vesna0923, and PrimaDonna before they expire on September 15.
