Throne and Liberty’s Dimensional Trials have been a challenge for players of the MMORPG for some time now. However, that challenge has been primarily taken on by the game’s most driven players. As we all know, that kind of content goes underused as only a small percentage of the population takes part.
Obviously, devs would like for more players to make use of the content they’re creating. And, the Throne and Liberty team is no exception, so they’re reworking Dimensional Trials to make them more accessible to players. According to the announcement, this doesn’t mean just adjusting the difficulty to make things easier. Rather, they will be making structural changes that account for player growth and experience, ensuring that what players are doing is still challenging, while allowing them to choose how they approach it.
When players first start Dimensional Trials, they will be presented with something that has a difficulty level similar to co-op dungeons. However, the rewards will be greater than they are in the dungeons. Trials are built with strategy in mind, and the strategies will change. So, players won’t be repeating the same exact content over and over. Trials now offer affixes and challenge conditions that will require players to adapt. It will be interesting to see if these changes will encourage more of the player base to take on the trials.
