UPDATED: P2E MMORPG Riders Of Icarus Will Complete Server Mergers This Month Resulting In 2 EU And 2 NA Servers

The time has come for Riders of Icarus players to get a little bit closer as the the pay-to-earn MMORPG will complete their previously announced server mergers this month. Our friends in the EU will have their merge trigger in just two days on February 6th, while NA players will merge later this month on the 20th.

Globally, 9 servers are being merged down to 4 servers with two servers remaining each region. In the EU, Velzeroth and Raken will come together and keep the Velzeroth name and Koroshimo and Akaldus will combine and stick with the Koroshimo name.

In NA, Baellas, Teleo, and Radan will merge and stick with the name Baellas while Parnas and Nerhes will live on as just Parnas.

Players don't need to actually do anything ahead of the mergers and all of their characters, progress, inventory, guild information, and all other account details will merge automatically. If you have inactive characters, they'll make the journey too. Only previously deleted characters won't migrate to their new homes...which kind of makes sense because how could they if they were deleted already? (Weird FAQ call out.)

If you happen to have anything in your in-game mailbox, that will be moved to your restoration storage.

Interestingly, the post does point out that the devs are still working on server stability. Players will also receive some type of as yet undetailed compensation for the merge. Just remember that rankings will be reset as part of this move and there still are no plans to allow EU and NA players to engage in cross-region PvP.

I know the game isn't only available via Steam, but if you're trying to play an MMO to earn real-life currency, you probably are ok with these mergers given the Steam player base size, but maybe start looking for a new way to make some cash.

UPDATE 2/5/2025: The server mergers have been canceled. The reason given is to "ensure the best possible gameplay experience" and that's a bit weird given that the reason for the merger itself was the exact same thing.
