About
9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek is a hidden-object puzzle-adventure title developed by Tap It Games and published by Artifex Mundi. Released on July 10, 2014, this single-player experience falls within the adventure and casual genres. Players assume the role of a paranormal private investigator who receives an urgent call from Helen Hunter, a famous reporter in distress. The story takes place in the coastal town of Serpent Creek, where the protagonist must locate her missing friend before time runs out. Upon arrival, the detective discovers that Ms. Hunter has vanished without a trace and finds the town's streets infested with snakes. Citizens appear to be sleepwalking through life while violent tremors shake the ground beneath them. The narrative merges elements of classical horror with a gritty, 50's-style noir atmosphere to create a distinct mystery. A unique Detective Mode is featured throughout the gameplay to assist in solving the case. The core objective involves saving the missing friend and exposing the corruption among the town's citizens. Players must work to stop an evil plot that seeks to bring the Snake God back to their world. This original game requires true investigative work, including finding clues and combining them to progress. The main story length is approximately three hours, with the same duration for both the main experience and extras. Even a completionist playthrough remains at three hours in total.
