About
Published by DANGEN Entertainment and developed by Stegosoft Games, Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition was released on June 1, 2016. This single-player title blends elements of action, indie, adventure, RPG, and casual genres into one experience. The game merges Japanese-style roleplaying mechanics with western RPG traditions while also incorporating visual novel and adventure game components. The narrative centers on a young woman who must save the floating world of Ara Fell from falling after an elven spell went wrong. Players join her friends as they face all odds to protect their homeland before the final hour arrives. Deep and accessible characters drive the story forward, each possessing distinct pasts, desires, and motivations for joining the quest. The plot relies on atmosphere, emotion, and surprise rather than combat alone. Exploration is a core component of the game, allowing players to jump, crawl, swim, and fly through the air to solve puzzles. New locations filled with hidden treasure and secrets await discovery in every corner of the world designed for investigation. Most areas become accessible immediately after leaving Aloria Village, provided the player has sufficient strength. Clever exploration can unlock early secrets and powerful equipment by taking advantage of the open nature of the world. Combat requires tactical preparation as players choose specialized equipment and statistics to customize each character. Customization allows users to adapt their party to suit specific play styles and counter unique boss battle mechanics. Despite being story-heavy, the world remains fraught with danger that demands strategic choices. Characters display a wide range of emotions, from laughter and jokes to losing tempers and will as the curse expands.
