About
Dice Legacy is an indie survival city builder published by Ravenscourt and developed by DESTINYbit, released on September 8, 2021. This single-player strategy game combines managerial elements with roguelike mechanics in a procedurally generated ringworld setting. Players guide their realm by rolling dice that directly determine outcomes rather than relying on hidden background calculations. The experience involves gathering resources, constructing buildings, and expanding borders while adapting strategies to fit individual playstyles. Managing the population requires keeping dice subjects happy and healthy through provisions like food, ale, and medicinal herbs. Without these supplies, subjects may starve, become sick, suffer injuries in combat, or freeze during winter blizzards. The population begins as humble peasants but can advance into citizens, soldiers, priests, or merchants through clever strategic planning. Players work with the Council to pass policies that maintain satisfaction among various dice classes and potentially alter the game's course. Unique constructs are created by forging dice together, which empowers faces to unlock special abilities for the ruler. The game offers six distinct rulers, each providing different starting conditions and wager abilities to test across multiple playthroughs. Exploration reveals mysterious civilizations and secrets hidden within the mists of the ringworld environment. Players must defend their settlement against The Others, an ancient faction that worships a being capable of changing destiny itself. The world blends medieval and steampunk aesthetics to pay tribute to tabletop and miniature game traditions. A new uncharted continent serves as the landing site where players raise and evolve their settlement while exploring the wilderness. Main story content takes approximately seven hours to complete, with additional extras extending playtime to eighteen hours. For those pursuing a completionist run, the total length reaches forty-six hours of gameplay.
