Going Medieval is an indie game that blends historical and RPG elements with strategy and simulation gameplay. The game was released on June 1, 2021, by The Irregular Corporation and developed by Foxy Voxel. Players can enjoy Going Medieval in single-player mode. The world of Going Medieval takes place after a devastating plague has wiped out 95% of the global population at the end of the 14th century. Survivors emerge from the ashes of society and must rebuild their lives in a dangerous new world reclaimed by nature. Players take on the role of a leader, tasked with building a settlement for their people, shaping their lives, and protecting them from threats such as animals, bandits, and other dangers. Players can design, build, and expand their settlements, starting from a small wooden hut and progressing to a massive stone castle. The game features 3D terrain tools that allow players to create unique strongholds with winding underground caverns or sprawling multi-story forts. The main story in Going Medieval takes approximately 24 hours to complete. Adding extra content increases the playtime to 31 hours, while a completionist playthrough can take up to 46 hours.
