You can decide to introduce space-age technology or live in harmony with nature while battling massive beasts or nurturing future generations. The world is realized in brilliant watercolor art, allowing you to explore freely as you shape your destiny. Your memories, decisions, and friendships form collectible cards that carry over between seasons. These battle cards provide new options for overcoming challenges related to relationships, skill acquisition, exploration, and survival. You can utilize memories from past lives to explore more than 800 story events throughout the game. The experience includes discovering over 250 battle cards as you mature on the alien planet. Challenge encounters allow you to play your best hand to ace math tests or escape from creatures like a wild snapbladder. Social interactions include making friends, fighting with parents, going on dates, falling in love, and saving the colony. The game offers 29 wildly different endings based on the choices made each month. Players can pick from 25 colony jobs ranging from goofing off as a depot clerk to surveying the valley. You can grow into 15 skills including bravery, toughness, organization, and empathy over time. There are 10 dateable characters available, including dog-boys, aliens, hot politicians, and stone cold killers. The main story takes approximately 11 hours to complete, while the main story plus extras extends to 29 hours. A completionist run requires about 75 hours of playtime.
