Megadimension Neptunia VIIR is an action RPG developed by IDEA FACTORY and COMPILE HEART, published by Idea Factory International, Inc. This enhanced version builds upon the original 2016 title with updated visuals powered by a new engine that delivers smoother graphics. The narrative takes place in Gamindustri, a realm where multiple dimensions converge, including the Zero Dimension which faces imminent collapse. Uzume Tennouboshi serves as the final guardian of this struggling world and fights against an evil entity called the Dark CPU. Her calls for assistance reach Neptune, the CPU of Planeptune, prompting her to leave her home dimension and join the conflict. Once the Zero Dimension is saved, Uzume joins the player in their own world to continue the adventure. The story features wacky dialogue set against beautiful scenery within enticing worlds that players can explore. A brand-new game engine allows these environments to be experienced with improved visual fidelity compared to previous iterations. Players can enter the Player's Room using a special VR mode to customize their space and interact one-on-one with various characters from the series. While compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets, a virtual reality device is not required to play the game. The turn-based battle system has been revamped to allow for on-the-go attack combos and dazzling special moves. Combat tactics are further expanded by allowing players to position teammates to execute devastating team attacks. Characters gain access to two levels of transformations that add depth to tactical choices and increase attack power. The main story takes approximately 42 hours to complete, while including extra content extends the experience to around 60 hours. For those aiming for a full completionist run, the total playtime reaches 98 hours.
