About
The TakeOver is an action indie casual title published and developed by Pelikan13, released on November 9, 2019. This side-scrolling beat'em up draws inspiration from 90's classics like Streets of Rage and Final Fight. Players can battle solo or team up with a friend in local co-op while enjoying music from artists such as Little V Mills, Richie Branson, James Ronald, and Yuzo Koshiro. The game offers three distinct modes including Arcade, Survival, and Challenge across seven stages featuring over 20 unique locations. Four playable characters are available for use, with the ability to swap between them in real time during the unlockable Relay Mode. The combat system centers on a new combo mechanism that links punches and kicks together. Quickly knocking enemies down keeps them stunned or launches them into the air for juggling opportunities. Maintaining these combos fills the Super meter faster to unleash devastating attacks. Players can also locate and utilize various weapons such as crowbars, swords, and machine guns throughout the experience.
