Reigns is an indie fantasy adventure RPG and simulation developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital. Released on August 10, 2016, this single-player title lets you act as a medieval monarch of the modern age sitting upon the throne. You control the kingdom by swiping your royal controller left or right to impose your will on various situations. Your reign involves surviving requests from advisors, peasants, allies, and enemies while keeping balance between influential factions. Each year brings new, seemingly random demands from an unpredictable kingdom that requires you to manage the church, the people, the army, and the treasury. Prudent decisions and careful planning are necessary to maintain a long reign, as every choice can have consequences down the road. These unfortunate consequences may eventually put your dynasty at risk if not handled correctly. The main story takes approximately four hours to complete, while including extras extends playtime to eight hours. A completionist run of the game requires about fifteen hours to finish all available content.
