About
The Shivah is an indie adventure game developed and published by Wadjet Eye Games that was released on November 21, 2013. This single-player title follows Russell Stone, a Jewish Rabbi working at a struggling synagogue in New York City. His congregation faces declining membership and financial difficulties, leading him to become increasingly cynical over time. Just before he considers giving up, a former member of his community passes away and leaves him a substantial sum of money. Russell must decide whether to accept the inheritance or investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. He travels throughout Manhattan to uncover the truth behind the situation while grappling with his conscience. The gameplay includes rabbinical conversation methods and a unique fighting system alongside an original score. Players can expect a main story length of two hours, with completionist play extending to three hours.
