The Destiny 2 team has been hard at work since the 9.0.0 Edge of Fate update, addressing issues raised by players of the free-to-play shooter and refining core systems.
Immediate fixes are underway, with more planned for the first post-launch major update on September 9. Upcoming changes include restoring color vibrancy to the World Tab, fixing reward preview discrepancies in mixed fireteams, and making Kepler Mythic difficulty more solo-friendly. Raid and dungeon baseline difficulty will be lowered, reward tiers made more accessible, and Contest Modes adjusted. An infinite Bright Dust source will return in 9.5.0, with an earlier grant for missed rewards.
Player feedback is driving further improvements, according to Bungie, with top priorities including faster power progression, rebalancing Portal rewards, boosting Fireteam Ops viability, and enhancing Crucible rewards — especially at lower ranks and for Comp-exclusive weapons. Raid loot will see higher-tier drops and better rates to match the time investment.
More updates, including new activities and rewards, are coming in 9.1.0 in early September and during the 9.5.0 Renegades reveal.
