MMOBOMB
Dec 12, 2023
Jeremy "Brightmoon" Lee, the executive producer of League of Legends, has announced his departure from Riot Games after nearly a decade with the MOBA’s team.
The announcement was made in the latest League of Legends developer update, where he discussed ranked rewards and monetization alongside Andrei 'Meddler' van Roon — the MOBA's senior vice president. Lee, who joined Riot Games in 2015 as the lead gameplay producer before ascending to the role of executive producer, expressed that 2023 had been a "whirlwind" for both the LoL community and the development team. He noted stepping away from his current role and, in the coming months, would pass the torch to a new executive producer.
Lee assured fans that this is not a complete departure, and he will still be seen during the Season Start and possibly in other endeavors while the search for the next executive producer is underway. Although Lee is leaving his current position, he will remain within the Riot Games family (taking on undisclosed work at the studio).
In the final Dev Update of the 2023, @RiotBrightmoon, @riotMeddler, Riot Pupulasers, and just a capybara discuss:
