On August 27, a new type of Arena activity will become available in Neverwinter for a limited time. The Slaughterhouse Arena won’t be completely foreign to players of the MMORPG, as it starts out similarly to M28’s Arena of Blood. However, it’s been expanded to make it ideal as a repeating event.
To get players started, the first time they enter, they will fight a few waves of enemies before taking on the boss. After they leave and come back, they’ll keep fighting waves of enemies that include both mobs and bosses. While the mode will allow players to go in alone, the devs suggest a party, as things will get more difficult the longer they survive. Critters will have higher health and do more damage with each subsequent round.
The good news is that after three rounds of combat, players will be able to choose some power-ups to help them out. Every three rounds, they’ll be able to choose three power-ups out of a pool of 62 up to level 48. At level 50, they’ll be able to choose one final power-up. After that, they’re on their own.
Players will be able to access the PvE part of Slaughterhouse via two daily quests. The first asks them to defeat 100 critters, while the other asks for 25 bosses.
Slaughterhouse also features PvP. Players will be asked to participate in this at least once in order to complete all the related quests. There are two new modes to choose from: Duel 1v1 and Team Duel 2v2. Of course, it won’t just be the other team that players will need to look out for. There are also traps in the arena. A lengthy rundown of Slaughterhouse Arena’s PvP is available on the Neverwinter site.
