Throne And Liberty Celebrates It's First Anniversary After A Year Of Major Updates And Big Changes

Throne and Liberty is celebrating its first anniversary since its global launch on October 1, 2024. Developed by FirstSpark Games and published by Amazon Games, the free-to-play MMORPG expanded beyond its original South Korean release in December 2023 — reaching new audiences across North and South America, Europe, and Japan. Within its first week, the game apparently saw over 3 million new players and peaked at 330,000 concurrent users on Steam.

Since launch, Throne and Liberty has received a steady stream of content updates and quality-of-life improvements. Thirteen new dungeons, solo dungeons, a major raid, two new weapon types, expanded housing, multiple PvP modes, and numerous seasonal events. There were two expansions, too: The Wilds of Talandre and Solisium’s Awakening.

The developers say they have a “player-first” philosophy and are listening to community feedback to shape everything from battleground design to catch-up systems for returning players.

FirstSpark Games and Amazon Games emphasized their ongoing commitment to stability and quality, addressing bugs, desync issues, and balancing through improved testing. Highlights from the past year include a global raid launch event that saw players worldwide racing to defeat the boss Calanthia. In total, the community has logged over 370 million hours, caught 330 million fish, and earned more than 300 million PvP kills.

Looking ahead, the developers teased new content — including a region with its own climate and unique experiences — promising that Throne and Liberty will continue to expand and refine.
