About

Carmageddon: Max Damage is a racing and action title published by THQ Nordic GmbH and developed by Stainless Games, released on October 26, 2016. This edition includes the original "US Election Special" mode where players can choose between scenarios featuring political figures or a balanced mix of both characters. The game offers single-player campaigns and multi-player options for online competition against other users. Players progress through career ranks in events like Car Crusher, Fox 'n' Hounds, Death Race, or Checkpoint Stampede while utilizing over-the-top violence and power-ups. The experience features nearly twenty years of physics technology updated with a new car damage system that allows vehicles to be crushed, bent, and split apart. Customization options let players install power, armor, and offensive upgrades to personalize their killing machines for wrecking opponents and pedestrians. The environments return in updated forms including Bleak City, Devil's Canyon, Dusty Trails, MagNuChem, and Snowy levels with familiar landmarks like the Loop 'de' Loop and Football Stadium. These locations are enhanced with more objects to smash into and surreal additions such as a giant food mixer incorporated into one level. Pedestrians range from classic figures like an old lady on a Zimmer frame and an old man with a stick to new faces including cyclists and users of mobility scooters. The game also includes herds of cows in improbable locations alongside bikini babes, swimming trunk hunks, and fat bastards. Power-ups return in super-enhanced forms such as Repulsificators, Kangaroos, and Solid Granites, while new options like Pelvic Thrust and various Tossers are available. Combining these items creates results such as Groovin' Helium Filled Peds or pedestrians without legs at a Temporary Rapture. The built-in Action Replay System allows players to relive mangling mayhem with multiple camera choices and replay options to review pile-ups. Achievements, challenges, collectables, and smelly bushes are hidden throughout the game to provide entertainment and goals for completionists. Leaderboards let players challenge themselves to reach the top using skill or brute force in a pursuit of pointless goals. The main story length is 15 hours, while the main story plus extras extends to 21 hours, with a total completionist length of 40 hours.
