The Plucky Squire is an action-adventure platformer published by Devolver Digital and developed by All Possible Futures, released on September 16, 2024. This single-player experience features storybook characters who discover a three-dimensional world outside the pages of their book. Players must jump between two-dimensional and three-dimensional realms to save their friends in this charming setting. The narrative follows Jot and his companions as they explore a magical world that exists beyond the printed page. The plot centers on the malevolent Humgrump, who realizes he is destined to lose his battle against the forces of good for all eternity. In response to this realization, Humgrump kicks the heroic Jot out of the book and changes the story forever. Jot must now face challenges unlike anything he has ever seen to save his friends from Humgrump's dark forces. The goal is to restore the book's happy ending through these new adventures. Gameplay involves solving puzzles, boxing badgers, and flying with a jetpack while navigating the shifting environments. Players will enjoy many delightful and surprising mini-challenges as they become the hero of a living storybook. The experience blends 2D and 3D mechanics to create a unique journey through the tale.
