Once Human Version 1.6.2 drops this week, so here’s what’s new in the free-to-play open world sandbox survival shooter.
The Way of Winter scenario is getting an enhancement. As you battle brutal cold and supernatural threats, you’ll need to build massive Thermal Towers in your territory, manage evolving regional effects, and push back the creeping frost while uncovering a fresh storyline. These towers can now be shared with others, thanks to a new permissions system.
Weather patterns are also getting an overhaul. Instead of a sudden deep freeze, extreme conditions will roll out in phases, spreading across the map and adding new effects.
You’ll also discover the Chaosium Hub, a large public structure where you can spend Raw Chaosium to buff your region, weaken local weather with a Chaosium Heart, or summon the Chaosweaver boss. Defeat the boss, and you’ll clear the cold. The final phase of the scenario has been redesigned too, so all players will face the last storm wave together.
There’s a major quality-of-life update as well that players have been asking for. More specifically, cross-season item protection. All seasonal settlement items will now go into an expanded Transit Storage — with 7,000 slots and smart sorting — instead of ending up scattered across your Spacetime Backpack or Temporary Storage. You’ll have 30 days to claim items before they’re turned into Astral Sand.
There’s also a new Private Item Recovery feature, which lets you retrieve your PvE items from a friend’s territory. So, you won’t lose gear if in the wrong place at the wrong time.
