ArenaNet has revealed the final three elite specializations coming to Guild Wars 2 in Visions of Eternity: the Evoker (Elementalist), Amalgam (Engineer), and Conduit (Revenant).
The Evoker draws from norn spiritual traditions, calling on nature spirits corrupted or lost during Jormag’s reign. These elementalists bond with spirit familiars — fox (fire), otter (water), hare (air), and toad (earth) — that aid them in combat. Choosing a primary element enhances attunement speed, traits, and unlocks a companion with basic and empowered skills. For example, the fire fox’s skill "Ignite" inflicts burning, while its empowered version, "Conflagration," spreads burning to nearby foes.
The Amalgam is an engineer who merges with a mercurial mold — an ooze capable of morphing into weapons or defensive tools. Replacing the engineer’s toolbelt, Amalgams select morph skills that let the ooze shift into forms like swords or shields. Their elite skill, Evolve, temporarily fuses them with the mold, gaining different bonuses based on the selected strain. There’s even a stance skill called "Liquid State" that turns them into a puddle.
The Conduit, a revenant elite spec, channels Razah — a shapeshifting entity from the original Guild Wars. This specialization focuses on amplifying connections to existing legends through Cosmic Wisdom, temporarily enhancing the revenant’s powers. A new resource, affinity, extends these enhancements based on skill usage. The Conduit also gains a unique Legendary Entity Stance with skills that synergize if certain legends are equipped. For example, the skill Beguiling Haze becomes an AoE strike if paired with Assassin Stance.
All three specs will be playable during the beta event for the free-to-play MMORPG from August 20 to 27, with a live preview airing August 8.
