About
Wildfrost is an indie strategy title developed by Deadpan Games and Gaziter and published by Chucklefish. This single-player experience was released on April 12, 2023, offering a tactical roguelike deckbuilder set in a frozen tundra. Players journey across the landscape to collect cards capable of banishing the eternal winter that has overtaken the world. The narrative takes place after the sun has frozen over, leaving Snowdwell and its survivors as the last bastion against the cold. Participants build a deck of powerful card companions and elemental items to battle frost in their quest to end The Wildfrost. Each run begins with a chosen tribe Leader who possesses different randomized skills and stats before mapping out a path into the unforgiving landscape. Along the way, players can rescue and recruit frozen companions while unearthing lost treasures. Hard-earned resources are spent with travelling merchants to aid in the journey. The decisions made and routes taken during each run help craft a powerful outcome for the player. The main story length is approximately 14 hours, while including extras extends playtime to about 26 hours. Completing all aspects of the game requires roughly 51 hours of gameplay.
